This is "Maria, the Music Stand."I often bring Maria to the Primary rooms and use her to help the children learn to read music notes, or just to help me hold things. Over the last couple of weeks, Maria has helped me to teach the kids how to sing the solfege syllables DO, MI, and SO. The Bluebonnets were very excited to sing the music notes. Here's a video: |
Unfortunately, I've had to take the video down, because one child in Bluebonnets does not have permission to be filmed, and I was unaware of that when I filmed the class.
To grant permission for me to use your child's image on this site, please see Ms. Patricia in the front office. I have saved the video and will gladly share it here if we receive permission from all parents, but I understand some people's hesitance. :)

I always find it so amusing how excited they get when we add a new note, and when I give them a choice as to how many "DO"s or "MI"s we should put up, etc. Just wait until I teach them the hand and body signs for the solfege syllables (Oh boy!).
